This week's Quarter-Note Corner goes metal with a little Mega Man — no pun intended. One of the franchise's best, Dr. Wily's stage from Mega Man 2 has been the source material for many aspiring artists, but few do it as well as Justin "Nekofrog" Jones. The original piece drives the player into the final stages of the epic side scroller and Nekofrog excels at recapturing this excited feeling with face-melting guitar riffs and some great double bass. Also, there is a sick guitar solo at the end that will make your grandma's panties fly off. You've been warned.
OC Remix creator, David "djpretzel" Lloyd, had this to say:
"Things intro with some quick stick clicks then jump right into a thick mix of sick... chugs. What strikes me immediately is the speed and tightness of the whole thing: it's mean, it growls, and it's got balls, but it's also really sharp and locked in. As Eddie Izzard would say, very Prussian."
